I sent this out to:
katrina@ldaf.louisana.gov
3512 N. Arnoult Apartment 109
Metairie, La. 70002
Ferret: Mix color brn/blk/tan male
Name: Widdershins
Location: In a wire cage as you come in the front door to your left. Or possibly in the bedroom, down the hall second door on your right.
Cat: Black male
Name: Onyx
Location: In the apartment. I should come when you call especially if you have food. His carrier should be right there in the living room.
PLEASE help me! My best friend and our pets were in Metairie Louisiana when the mandatory evacuation was issued. She doesn’t drive, and I am working in Massachusetts. I managed to get her a ride to Baton Rouge and then to Dallas, and flew her up here, but The ferret and cat have both been in the apartment for a week, and I am frantic. I sent a friend to get them, but he was stopped at some sort of road block. They wouldn’t let him into that part of Metairie. PLEASE let me know that you got this message and if you can help, or who I should contact if you can’t help. The address and descriptions are above.

I sent your email to disaster@apca.org. They have a trapped pets hotline. They have a team down there and I’m looking right now for another agency. They also have a hotline, 212-876-7700 ext. 4700.
